A great start to the week …
This week, Daisy Laverock-Willis has joined us for a few days’ work experience:
Day one
Today was my first day at 360° and so far I am really enjoying it.
First of all I had to get to grips with using a Mac, which I’d never used before. But I quickly picked up the basics. Mark then showed me some of the adverts that he and Kirsty have worked on in the past then set me the task of coming up with words for RCT Homes. For this, I had to come up with two words under certain themes (e.g. Bold and Trustworthy) and link them with a + symbol to symbolise the new message of the company. This was quite challenging, especially coming up with words to fit around the theme of ‘proud’.
After an hour or so of brainstorming and reading through a thesaurus, Mark and I brought our ideas together to come up with a final shortlist of pairs. We then went away again to figure out where these words could go in the office. For example, words could be put onto the glass walls in the kitchen or on the stationery. This was a lot simpler than the first task! We then had a meeting with Chris, who gave our ideas a thumbs up and so we went away again to match the words with the different areas in the office.
The thing that I liked most about today was the independence that I was given, as I often had to work and come up with ideas by myself. The task itself was quite challenging but I managed to come up with some good ideas for the project. A good start to the week.
Oh and kudos on the office, it’s really nice!
Daisy
