Argoscareers refresh

As you have probably noticed the Argos brand has undergone a refresh in recent weeks. 360 got the go ahead to revamp Argoscareers.com just before Christmas and the new look careers website launched on time on Friday 22 January - the day before the new Argos catalogue launch featuring the new Argos branding for the first time.

We are currently working with the HR team at Argos on a complete overhaul of Argoscareers.com which will rolled out in the next few months.

Frequent flyers

Even during the current climate people still want to let their hair down at the weekends.

And after being sent invite after invite, flyer after flyer, I decided to look into getting a slice of this market.

After a bit of shameless networking and word of mouth, plus the creation of our Facebook group, we are now gaining experience in this area and working alongside club promoters and DJs to produce flyers, posters and logos for various events. Cool.

A number one hit

Four by Four continue to develop the Calibre One brand, expanding their new look across further marketing materials.

We have just completed the rebranding of the Calibre One Index - a quarterly booklet providing a comprehensive review of early stage tech investments. The look and feel is fresher than the previous design. It has given Calibre One an opportunity to make revisions to the content, adding forewords from both the US and Europe and a new section about recent assignments towards the back.

I have attached some examples of the new layout but if you would like to download a full version please click here and download Issue 22 2009 Q2 .

In addition to the Index, we have also produced a couple of corporate advertisements reflecting the style, simplicity and colours of the new branding. Plus we are pleased to see the internal templates we created and mentioned in a previous blog now in use.

RECaid

Advertising. It’s all about ‘me’ people. Selling your soul so that you can sell anything to anyone. Isn’t it? Maybe Bill Hicks was right, those of us within the industry are - and I quote – “Satan’s little helpers” … or maybe, just maybe (with all due respect to the genius of the late Mr Hicks) he got it wrong.

It hasn’t been an easy time for anyone recently. When the economy suffers, advertising revenue suffers. And when the job market collapses, recruitment advertising really takes a beating. That can lead to even more problems for those of us within the industry. Reduced agency income can mean job losses - at the very time when there are fewer opportunities out there. So it warms the heart in these dark days to see the industry pull together and do something genuinely kind.

Ours is a small industry. And when a large agency recently went into freefall, making redundancies days before being bought by another agency, leaving many people without jobs or redundancy payouts, word spread fast. That’s when RECaid was set up. With the help of NABS, RECaid is a fund that will help out those within our industry who are facing very real difficulties right now. As we’re in the business of advising others on how to engage, recruit and retain the best talent, it only seems right that we lead the way in looking after our own.

More about the fund can be found at www.recaid.co.uk.

Illustrating an idea

Sometimes we creatives get that urge to express ourselves in a style we enjoy but rarely get the chance to use. Recently, however, I have been given that exact opportunity. I have been given various commissions to produce some bespoke illustrations in my own distinct graphic drawing style. The resulting illustrations have been used for a range of purposes including T-shirts, wall poster stretched on canvas, websites, business cards, music CD covers and flyers.

Launch of Calibre One website

Calibre One have launched their new website. Designed by Four by Four, working closely with the client, this project spanned many months and has resulted in a clean looking corporate site with simple navigation. Now it’s live and we are really happy with the overall look and feel, please click here to view. This website redesign has sparked a complete overhaul to their corporate ID both internally and externally with tweaks to the logo, fonts and colour schemes.

We have now redesigned Calibre One’s Word and Powerpoint templates as well as producing an A6 conference brochure. Now we are in the process of updating two of Calibre One’s regular industry publications: ‘Insight’ - a look at what is happening within their clients’ industries and ‘Index’ - a quarterly technology investment review.
